Jailer kerala fan shows

In Kerala, Rajinikanth’s forthcoming flick Jailer is drawing a huge response from movie lovers.

While several theatres across the State allotted early morning shows on the release date (10 August), advanced bookings already began and are in full swing.

Malayalam actor Mohanlal is playing a cameo-yet-significant character named Mathew in the film.

Jailer also stars Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vinayakan, and Mirnaa Menon in key roles.

The movie is distributed in Kerala by Sree Gokulam Films which bought the rights for ₹6 crore. Sree Gokulam Films earlier distributed Ponniyin Selvan-1 and Ponniyin Selvan-2 in Kerala.

It’s a double dhamaka for filmgoers in Kerala since Mohanlal fans, too, are celebrating the grand release of Jailer. They are excited to watch their favourite Superstar share the screen space with his Tamil counterpart.

In fact, almost all theatres across the State will have fan shows on Thursday.

“We are expecting a good audience for Jailer. We have the 6 AM show in our theatre,” said an exhibitor from Malappuram.

Manikandan, a Rajinikanth fan from Palakkad, said, “It’s our Superstar’s movie. I can’t wait to watch the first-day-first-show.”

Tamil (even dubbed versions) films enjoy a niche audience in the State. The neighbouring districts of Palakkad, Kollam, and Trivandrum always draw huge crowds to cinema halls where Rajini’s films are screened.

Though his previous films — Annathe and Darbar — didn’t do well at the box office, the trailer of the Malayalam version of Jailer evoked huge expectations among movie buffs here.

Malayalam Jailer

In the wake of the release of the Rajinikanth-starrer on 10 August, Mollywood will not witness any big releases this week.

Interestingly, Malayalam movie Jailer starring Dhyan Sreenivasan is hitting the screens on Friday, 11 August, though. But Rajinikanth fans aren’t bothered about this small movie directed by Sakkir Madathil.

Sakkir Madathil recently averred that he isn’t getting enough theatres for his movie. The filmmaker even staged a one-day protest in Kochi after several cinema halls refused to screen his latest directorial.
