‘Inspector Rishi’ will be a special series in the horror thriller genre, says actor Naveen Chandra

Ahead of the release of the web series, team Inspector Rishi interacted with the media in Hyderabad on Wednesday, 27 March.

Director Nandini JS emphasised the Telugu audience’s appreciation for diverse content and the global impact of Telugu cinema after successes like Baahubali (2017) and RRR (2020).

Initially planned for Tamil only, Inspector Rishi will now be released in all five languages.

Calling it a special series, Naveen Chandra said not only the web show but his character (Inspector Rishi), too, is multi-dimensional.

The actor also shared his experience. “After returning home from filming each day, it felt like the ghost from the series followed me into my bedroom, especially with numerous scenes involving the devil.”

Urging everyone to watch the 10-episode web show, Naveen Chandra lauded the production house — Make Believe — for entrusting director Nandini with such a big project.

There’s something for everyone: Sunaina

Sunaina, who was earlier seen in Raja Raja Chora (2021), said she heard the script only during the shoot.

“As soon as I heard it, I was determined to be part of this series. I have a significant role in this story. I portray a forest ranger. This web series offers something for everyone, blending elements of horror, thriller, romance, action, and comedy.”

She explained, “The story of this web series is meticulously designed to ensure a wider appeal. After the trailer’s release, we received a tremendous response and positive feedback. We hope for a good reception in Telugu as well.”

Sunaina described her co-star Naveen Chandra as a versatile artiste involved in various projects.

“Director Nandini provided us with ample creative freedom during filming. She gave us a lot of liberty and freedom to express ourselves. Apart from that, Krishna and Ravi made sure we had fun on set.”

About her not doing many Telugu films, Sunaina clarified, “I haven’t been getting good films here. I want to work in good films, irrespective of language.”

Actor Krishna Dayal, who plays a forest ranger named Satya, expressed excitement about the project.

Kanna Ravi, who plays Inspector Ayyanar, praised the director’s vision and the web series’ unique storyline.

“Major portions of Inspector Rishi web series were shot in the forest, and each character has a well-defined arc, especially Naveen and Sunaina’s,” he added.
