The successful duo of Kollywood star Vishal and director Hari, known for their previous hits like Bharani and Pooja, came with the action drama Rathnam.
This third collaboration, which was released with good expectations last week, toppled at the box office with poor reviews.
Though the opening day seemed okay, Rathnam collection started declining on the second day.
Here’s the five-day collection of Rathnam in the Telugu states:
Nizam: ₹0.49 crore Ceded: ₹0.24 crore North Andhra: ₹0.16 crore East Godavari: ₹0.09 crore West Godavari: ₹0.04 crore Guntur: ₹0.10 crore Krishna: ₹0.11 crore Nellore: ₹0.04 crore AP + Telangana (Total): ₹1.27 crore
The film Rathnam did a theatrical business of ₹3.4 crore. It has to earn a share of ₹3.7 crore to touch the breakeven mark.
In five days, the Telugu dubbed version of the Tamil film earned a share of ₹1.27 crore. Another ₹2.43 crore share should be collected to make breakeven.
Meanwhile, industry analysts say that Rathnam was pulled out in all major centres in the two Telugu states owing to the poor response from audiences. It is more likely to get washed out in the coming days.
Produced by Karthikeyan Santhanam under Stone Bench Films and Zee Studios, the movie features Priya Bhavani Shankar as the leading lady.
