The 1990s witnessed Mohanlal’s successful combination with directors like Priyadarshan, Sibi Malayil, and Sathyan Anthikad.
Later, as the Malayalam Superstar became busier with his acting career, he worked with other directors in Bollywood, Kollywood, and Tollywood.
However, after a long gap, the evergreen combo of Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad is back again. The two are coming together for an interesting project in Malayalam.
The actor-director combination has been phenomenal in making successful films like Gandhi Nagar Second Street (1986), Sanmanasullavarku Samadhanam (1986), Varavelpu (1989), Nadodikattu (1987), and Pattanapravesham (1988).

But there was a long gap after their 1994 movie Pingami.
The duo united again after 12 years in 2006 for Rasathanthram, a super hit film. Later, Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad delivered many successful ventures — Snehaveedu (2011), Innathe Chithavishayam ( 2008), and Ennum Eppozhum (2015).
The successful combo is back for a film to be produced by Aashirvad Cinemas. There were unconfirmed reports about the project, but the filmmaker confirmed the news in a radio interview.

Sathyan Anthikad’s new movie will be started at a time when his first directorial movie Kurukkante Kalyanam completed its 40th year. The film, released in 1982, featured Sukumaran, Madhavi, and Jagthy Sreekumar in lead roles. Mohanlal played a key role in it.
Director Sathyan Anthikad is known as a master in telling family stories, and most of his projects are feel-good films.
In a career spanning five decades, he directed over 50 flicks.
Before becoming a filmmaker, he was an assistant director, lyricist, and scriptwriter. He penned lyrics for at least 12 films. He also made successful movies with actor-director Sreenivasan. They are still celebrated today.
His previous release was Makal (2022), featuring Jayaram and Meera Jasmine in the lead roles.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal is busy with L2: Empuraan, Rambaan, and Vrushabha.
