Lucky Baskhar to be released on 27 September

The makers of Dulquer Salmaan’s Lucky Baskhar have announced a new release date for the film.

Initially scheduled for a July release, the heist drama, will hit the screens on 27 September.

Lucky Baskhar is Dulquer Salmaan’s third film in Telugu cinema, following Mahanati (2018) and Sita Ramam (2022).

Fans are eagerly anticipating the film, given Dulquer’s successful portrayal in two previous period films.

Lucky Baskhar, directed by Venky Atluri of Vaathi (2023) fame, also features Meenakshi Chaudhary in a prominent role.

Marking Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday in 2023, the makers unveiled the first look. The poster depicted the actor peeking through ₹100 notes, with only his smile visible.

Further, the teaser of Lucky Baskhar features the Malayalam actor as a middle-class banker tired of his monotonous life, described as a “common, middle-class, Indian man.”

The teaser then takes an intriguing turn, revealing Dulquer’s character with a substantial amount of money. How Baskhar becomes lucky remains to be seen.

Set in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Lucky Baskhar‘s technical crew includes music director GV Prakash Kumar, cinematographer Nimish Ravi, and editor Navin Nooli.

Dulquer’s most recent theatrical release was the gangster drama, King of Kotha (2023). He was also seen in the Hindi web series, Guns & Gulaabs (2023), directed by Raj & DK.

In addition, the actor is co-producing Kaantha, alongside actor Rana Daggubati.

Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya, who produced Lucky Baskhar under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, are planning a pan-India release.

Interestingly, the release date of Lucky Baskhar coincides with that of Pawan Kalyan’s OG.

The film, directed by Sujeeth of Saaho (2019) fame, is set against the backdrop of the Mumbai mafia.

DVV Danayya, the producer of RRR (2022), is financing OG, which is described as an action thriller. Thaman is composing the music for the film, while Ravi K Chandran is serving as the cinematographer.
