Dileep and Tamannaah Bhatia at the Bandra audio launch

Malayalam actor Dileep’s new flick Bandra will be released on 10 November. The trailer of the movie, which was released recently, gave the impression that it is an action-packed drama.

Bandra features Tamannaah Bhatia opposite Dileep.

The Malayalam film, directed by Arun Gopy, has been shot in different locations in the country.

It is Dileep’s 147th movie. Arun Gopy and Dileep collaborated for the second time for the flick after Ramaleela, their successful outing in 2017.

‘Not a gangster flick’

While the trailer of Bandra suggested that it is a gangster film, Dileep asserted that it isn’t.

Addressing the media on Sunday, 29 October, the Malayalam actor clarified, “Please don’t watch Bandra thinking that it’s a gangster drama. It is a family drama and is about a man who faces many issues after a woman enters his life.”

The actor also requested the audience not to assume anything after watching the trailer and get disappointed.

When asked about scriptwriter Udayakrishna, who received negative comments on social media after his recent films didn’t work at the box office, Dileep recalled that the writer delivered several superhits in his career.

“Everybody will have ups and downs in their career,” the actor said in support of Udaykrishna who penned the script of Bandra.

Tamannaah Bhatia, who was present at the press conference, said it was a good experience working with Dileep and the entire crew. Bandra marks her Malayalam debut.

On a lighter note, Dileep said he wasn’t sure if Tamannaah would be part of the film — though the director assured of the same — until she arrived at the shooting location in Kottarakara.

Bandra is jointly produced by Vinakaya Ajith and Amit Kothari under the banner of Ajith Vinayaka Films.

Sam CS composed the music. The cinematography is by Shaji Kumar.

It is touted to be a big-budget movie made with some high-octane action sequences.
