Court orders probe against YouTubers who posted negative reviews against 'Bandra'

The Thiruvananthapuram District First Class Magistrate Court has issued a probe against the YouTube vloggers who posted negative reviews against Dileep’s Bandra (2023).

The probe has been ordered against Aswanth Kok, Unni Vlogs, Arjun, Shan Mohammed, Hijaz Talks, and Sai Krishna.

According to a complaint filed by Bandra producer Ajith Vinayaka, the vloggers posted the review of the movie after 30 minutes of its theatrical release — at 11.30 am on 10 November. Around 27 lakh viewers watched these reviews in three days.

In the petition filed with the Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, the producer alleged that the negative reviews posted by the bloggers against Bandra, within three days of the release of the film, caused heavy losses to the production company.

So, he demanded that the Thiruvananthapuram city police commissioner be instructed to file a case.

The producer also alleged that Bandra was degraded through fake and misleading ways on social media.

Further, the petitioner stated that such targeted negative reviews, published within three days of a film’s release, should be considered as “looting” and not just degrading.
