Jailer trailer out now

The new trailer of director Nelson’s upcoming action extravaganza Jailer, featuring Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, garnered a whopping eight million views in a matter of just 12 hours of being released on YouTube (on Wednesday, 2 August).

The trailer, which the makers called “Showcase”, shows Rajinikanth’s character (jailer) Tiger Muthuvel Pandian suffering from a disease. As a result of this disease, Tiger Muthuvel Pandian has two different sides to his personality.

The ‘Showcase’ also portrays Rajini’s demeanour as being as gentle as a kitten but suddenly turning as aggressive as a tiger on occasions.

Rajinikanth plays the responsible and caring father of a policeman in this film.

Further, the new trailer depicts Vinayan as a brutal criminal who is obsessed with inflicting extreme pain on a person who blackmails him.

It also gives a glimpse of Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff’s role in Jailer. His character is seen cautioning another person about dealing with Tiger Muthuvel Pandian by saying, “You’ve seen him only as the father of a policeman. But I have seen another facet of his that you haven’t.”

The trailer/Showcase took the internet by storm with almost a massive six lakh people giving it the thumbs-up sign.

Huge star cast

Produced by Sun Pictures, the movie also features Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Mirna Menon, Tamannah, Vasanth Ravi, Naga Babu, and Yogi Babu in significant roles.

It has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan, editing by Nirmal, and stunts by Stun Siva.

The flick is scheduled to hit screens on 10 August.

CV Kumar announces Pizza IV

The success of the recently-released horror thriller Pizza 3, featuring Ashwin Kakamanu and Pavitra in the lead, encouraged its producer CV Kumar to announce the next part of the popular franchise.

The first part — Pizza — was directed by Karthik Subbaraj. It featured Vijay Sethupathi and Remya Nambeesan in the lead. It registered an overwhelming success at the box office which led to the creation of a franchise.

Pizza‘s success also prompted several young directors to try their hands at making horror films. One such director, Deepan Chakravarthy, made the second part of the franchise.

Pizza II: The Villa starred Ashok Selvan and Sanchita Shetty in the lead. However, it did not do as well as the first part.

However, Kumar announced the third part — Pizza III: The Mummy. Directed by Mohan Govind, it is running successfully in theatres.

This seems to have prompted the producer to announce the fourth part of the franchise.

“The success of three parts of Pizza continues to inspire us, thanks to the love of fans and their vow to support quality content. The fourth instalment of Pizza will start soon. An announcement on the director, cast and technical team will be made soon,” CV Kumar told the media on Thursday, 3 August.
