'Corona Dhavan' is directed by debutant CC Nithin; actress Urvashi's next is 'Jaladhara Pump Set Since 1962'.
The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film Corona Dhavan released its promo video where the characters can be seen getting too desperate to grab liquor bottles.
The title of the movie was changed from Corona Javan to Corona Dhavan after the Censor Board asked to change the title.
On a funny note, its debutant director CC Nithin posted a letter, on his Instagram, addressing Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan where he wondered why the Censor Board didn’t ask him (Shah Rukh) to change the title of his forthcoming flick Jawan.
Corona Dhavan is set in a village called “Aanathadam” where the lives of a bunch of alcoholics turn upside down with the outbreak of Covid-19.
The trailer of this comedy entertainer depicts the hardships faced by Malayalees during the lockdown. It is also packed with romantic scenes between the lead pair — Lukman Avaran and Sruthy Jayan.
Corona Dhavan is produced by James and Jerome under the banner James & Jerome Productions. Sujai Mohanraj wrote the screenplay.
Johny Antony, Sarath Sabha, Irshad Ali, Bitto, Sruthy Jayan, Seema G Nair, Unni Nair, Sinoj Angamaly, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Vijilesh, Anish Gopal, Sunil Sukhada, and Sivaji Guruvayoor will appear in significant roles.
Janeesh Jayanandan is the cinematographer.
The songs are composed by Rijo Joseph and the background score is by Bibin Ashok. The editing is by Ajeesh Anand.
Actress Urvashi will be seen in Jaladhara Pump Set Since 1962 after her Tamil movie Appatha (2023) which premiered in Jio Cinema recently.
