Actor Nani in Saripodhaa Sanivaaram

Natural Star Nani’s upcoming movie Saripodhaa Sanivaaram sparked a debate on social media. Netizens got curious about the title because a film titled Mangalavaram was announced last week.

The teaser gave a new insight into how the film would be. Senior artiste Sai Kumar’s voice in the background, the story goes — “Everybody gets a day. What if the day is Saturday? Is it not enough?”

So, audiences have an idea about what subject the movie runs, if not the entire story. It is about a man who breaks his shackles on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a few netizens alleged that Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is copied from a Korean drama. They took references from a K-drama where the protagonist lives a morbid life and abruptly gets active on Saturday.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is directed by Vivek Athreya and produced by Ghanta Naveen Babu. The project marks the second collaboration between Nani and Athreya, after Ante Sundaraniki (2022).

It is being made in Telugu and will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam too.

Touted to be a massy thriller, the film raised the expectations following the teaser drop on Dasara.

Nithiin imitates Pawan’s lungi look

It is no secret that actor Nithiin is pretty fond of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan.

This could be the reason why his films have references to the Power Star or at least Nithiin would ensure that Pawan Kalyan’s mannerism or his style be incorporated in a scene or a song. Thus, Pawan’s fans have a soft spot for Nithiin.

Nithiin and Pawan had a rough patch a decade ago. However, both made a comeback instantly — Nithiin with Ishq and Pawan Kalyan with Gabbar Singh respectively in 2012.

Since then, Nithiin started giving references to Kalyan in every film he acted in.

Lately, the actor is riding high on the success of Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde (2013), A Aa (2016), and Bheeshma (2020). In many instances, he happened to be using Pawan’s references from his very first film Jayam (2002).

Nithin is currently looking forward to his upcoming movie titled Extra. But the team has dropped a poster stating that the teaser will be out on 30 October.

The poster shows Nithiin sporting a lungi similar to Pawan Kalyan’s Thammudu (1999) — a red shirt and a red stole around the neck, reminding Pawan Kalyan’s famous song from the film: “Hey Pilla Nee Peru Lovely“.

Vakkantham Vamsi is helming Extra which will arrive in theatres on 8 December.
