If the news reports are anything to go by, star Nandmauri Balakrishna will make his directorial debut next year.

He penned a sequel to one of his iconic films in Telugu cinema, Aditya 369, which was released in 1991. It starred Balakrishna in the lead role.

Directed by the legendary filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, Aditya 369 went on to become an industry hit with an ensemble cast of Tarun, Mohini, Amrish Puri, Tinnu Anand, and Subhalekha Sudhakar.

The sequel to Aditya 369 will take off next year.

While promoting his latest box office film Bhagavanth Kesari (2023), Balakrishna admitted in various interviews about his directorial debut.

After commercial success with Akhanda (2021) and later Veera Simha Reddy (2023), the veteran actor is enjoying the box office numbers of Bhagavanth Kesari where he played the titular role.

Nani breaks shackles in Saripodha Sanivaaram

Marking the auspicious occasion of Dasara on Monday, 23 October, the makers of Nani’s 31st film Saripodha Sanivaaram dropped the title-introduction teaser.

More than his forthcoming movie Hi Nanna, the teaser of the latest has grabbed the attention of the actor’s fans.

Terrific business in Telugu states

As Prabhas’ much-awaited flick Salaar is scheduled to hit the screens on 22 December, the buzz around the film has reached a notch higher.

The flick is expected to do more business in the Telugu states than that of SS Rajamouli’s RRR.

The big-budget film is directed by Prashant Neel.

While all the major movies dropped updates on Dasara, the makers of Salaar didn’t release any content even for Prabhas’ birthday (23 October). The reason is that the team is reshooting a few portions of the film.

There is a lot of work left at the post-production stage, too.

Business-wise, Salaar did a terrific job in the Telugu states. The Nizam rights were sold for a whopping ₹65 crore by Mythri Movies.

One Abhishek Reddy bought the rights for Ceded for ₹27 crore, while Uttarandhra rights were sold for ₹20.4 crore, East Godavari rights for ₹13.6 crore, Guntur rights for ₹12 crore, and Nellore rights for ₹6.3 crore.

Whose girlfriend is Rashmika?

Rashmika Mandanna hopped on to the next project which is touted to be a female-centric drama. Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainments are jointly bankrolling the project. Actor-turned-filmmaker Rahul Ravindran is the director of the film.

The expectations from the fans of the National crush Rashmika are high already with Sandeep Reddy’s directorial Animal which is soon hitting screens in December.

Now, it appears that she has another performance-oriented role in the offing in this untitled project.

The makers have released a glimpse of Rashmika from the movie in which she is seen keenly observing the voice underwater. The narrator describes the characteristics of an ideal girlfriend. It looks like Rashmika is listening to the voice in the background as her happy face turns sad with background music scored by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
