Tamil actor Kavin, whose film Dada went on to become the first blockbuster of 2023, will we his longtime girlfriend Monica on 20 August.
The wedding will take place with the blessings of both families. It will be a strictly private affair with only select friends and close relatives attending the event.
Says a source, “The families of both Kavin and Monica want this wedding to be a low-key affair. Only select people are being invited to the wedding. The families are likely to begin sending out invites only a couple of weeks before the wedding. A wedding reception is likely to be held later.”
Monica, sources say, works in a private school.
Kavin shot to fame with the popular Tamil reality show Bigg Boss. He emerged as a star earlier this year when his film Dada, directed by Ganesh K Babu, went on to set the cash registers ringing at the box office.
The movie’s humongous success revived hope in several small film producers who were until then worried if audiences would ever walk into theatres post-Covid.
Kavin will next be seen in a yet-to-be-titled romantic flick directed by dancer-choreographer Sathish. It will have music by Anirudh.
Thanks to Dada’s success, the expectations for this project already shot up.

Ace director Selvaraghavan, who time and again proved his mettle as an actor too, will next be seen playing the lead in a film the story of which will focus on South Tamil Nadu politics.
The yet-to-be-titled movie is directed by Ranganathan. It will feature a series of talented actors from both the Telugu and Malayalam film industries.
Sources say that popular Telugu actor Sunil and well-known Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko will play pivotal roles in this flick. It also features Saraswati Menon, ace cinematographer Rajeev Menon’s daughter, as the female lead.
Produced by GA Harikrishnan and Durga Devi Harikrishnan for Moment Entertainments, the untitled film will also cast Yogi Babu, Radha Ravi, and Vinodhini in key roles.
Further, it will cast another heroine whose name is yet to be disclosed.
According to director Ranganathan, this is a story about the politics of South Tamil Nadu.
“Selvaraghavan liked the story and agreed to play the lead role. Currently, shooting is going on at Dindigul, Ramanathapuram, and Kodaikanal. We are planning to complete the shoot in 50 days. A famous music composer is scoring the music. His name will be announced soon,” the filmmaker added.
