CinemaSnippets: Mohanlal, Jeethu Joseph team up again for new movie

The duo earlier worked for 'Drishyam', 'Drishyam 2', and '12th Man'; Vijay Sethupathi's 50th film titled 'Maharaja'.

Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph next and Vijay Sethupathi 50th

Superhit combo Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph will join hands once again for their upcoming movie. The untitled flick will be directed by Antony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas.

Speculations were rife that the film would be Drishyam 3. However, the makers clarified that this is a completely different project.

The shooting of the yet-to-be-titled movie will commence in August. It is expected to release this year. More details about the flick are awaited.

Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are currently shooting for Ram. But the film got delayed due to the Covid-19 restrictions on travel.

The movie features Mohanlal as a globe-trotting investigative officer. It has been shot in the UK, Tunisia and Morocco.

Earlier, Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph collaborated with each other for Drishyam (2013), Drishyam 2 (2021) and 12th Man (2022).

Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th film titled Maharaja

Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th film will be directed by Nithilan Swaminathan. The filmmaker debuted with Kurangu Bommai (2017) which received critical appreciation.

The upcoming movie will be jointly produced by Passion Studios and The Route & Think Studios.

The cast of Maharaja includes Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natty Natraj.

Kantara-fame Ajaneesh Loknath is the music director, Dinesh Purushothaman is the cinematographer, and Philomin Raj is the editor.

The first-look poster of Maharaja was launched recently. It features a chess piece — the King. The King casts a shadow which portrays the abstract faces of the lead actors.

The shooting of Maharaja has been completed and the post-production work is in its final stage.

The official announcement on the trailer launch, audio release and theatrical release will be made soon.
