Dil Raju

As new films hit theatres every weekend, film journalists are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to reaching out to the public.

During the pre-release event of Kotabommali PS, the makers, along with the chief guests who attended the event, did something they hadn’t done before. Media personnel were made to sit on stage while the guests from the audience section started shooting questions at them.

The question hour slowly turned into a debate when certain topics like reviews, ratings, and script narration came to the fore.

An unusual challenge

Stating that if seven out of ten people say a movie is good, the film will certainly be a blockbuster, film producer Dil Raju threw an unusual challenge to the film critics.

“If I show you a film script before going on to the sets, will you be able to judge the movie’s outcome?” Dil Raju asked the journalists.

Well, the challenge seemed unique; the film journalists on stage were doubtful whether the person who helms the movie could transform the script via visual narrative.

It is interesting to note that director Sudha Kongara Prasad happened to show the script of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru to film critic Bharadwaj Rangan before actually going on to the sets.

If Dil Raju wants to run with this challenge, it will become a new trend. But can makers afford to run the risk of plot leaks? Now, that is a question to think about!
