Audio rights of Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘King of Kotha’ sold for ₹6 crore

Besides the untitled film by Tinu Pappachan, Dulquer will be seen in a Telugu project with ‘Sir’ director Venky Atluri.

Even as Dulquer Salmaan’s King of Kotha is getting ready for a grand release during the Onam season, Sony Music has won its music rights for a record price of ₹6 crore.

Earlier, the highest audio rights for a Malayalam movie — Hridayam (Heart, 2022) — were bagged by Think Music for ₹2 crore.

Jakes Bejoy and Shaan Rahman composed the music for King of Kotha. It recently completed its 95 days long shooting at Karaikudi.

Touted to be a stylish mass-action thriller, the film is directed by Abhilash Joshie, the son of popular Malayalam director Joshie.

It is produced by Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. Also, it marks the debut Malayalam production venture of Zee Studios.

King of Kotha will hit the big screen as an Onam release in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Abhilash N Chandran is the scriptwriter, Nimish Ravi is the cinematographer and Shyam Sasidharan is the editor.

Dulquer’s next with ‘Vaathi’ director

Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan after his successful love story Sitaramam (2022), is all set to do another Telugu movie.

The actor enjoys a good fanbase in the Telugu states and has a knack to present himself as a person hailing from that culture and land, seamlessly.

Dulquer will be directed by young director Venky Atluri who recently helmed Dhanush’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual Sir/ Vaathi.

The new project will be jointly produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. These production houses are keen to produce films that entertain and remain with audiences over time.

Venky Atluri’s Vaathi was a super hit and the makers suggest that the new venture with Dulquer will also be another quality and content-oriented movie that will entertain audiences without fail.
