YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu takes a dig at Pawan Kalyan's Bro

Pawan Kalyan-starrer Bro sent a resounding message with record collections last weekend. However, the joy is short-lived as the movie failed to hold its momentum long.

The collections dropped miserably on Monday, 31 July, compared to the numbers of the small-budget movie Baby which was released a fortnight ago.

Surprisingly, Bro couldn’t win over Baby in terms of revenue on its first Monday.

Sai Rajesh directorial (Baby) earned ₹4 crore on the first Monday, 17 July, while Samuthirakani directorial (Bro) managed to cross ₹3 crore (in Telugu States).

Meanwhile, Bro’s dismal performance on weekdays led to a political slugfest on Twitter.

The rivals of Jana Sena — particularly YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu — took a dig at Jana Sena founder-actor Powerstar Pawan Kalyan following Bro’s performance.

Attributing to the film’s box office collections, he threw a satire at Kalyan saying, “Collection for the producer looks nil! The package star filled his pocket full (sic).” The tweet attracted comments all over from Jana Sena sympathisers and Jagan followers too.

And the flurry of tweets saw some unexplored talent among the users. Commenting and attacking Ambati with a war of words while at the same time showing their talent at poetry.

Bro collects ₹55 crore

Bro collections reached ₹55 crore at the box office worldwide. The flick just managed to recover half the investment, including the theatrical rights.

The Monday figures worldwide suggest that Bro started the downward course.

However, Kalyan’s latest outing is being raved about by family audiences. It asks some important questions about life after death.

Starring Priya Prakash Varier, Ketika Sharma, and Sai Dharam Tej in the lead roles, the film features Pawan Kalyan as the God of time —Titan.

It is an adaptation of the Tamil film Vinodhaya Sitham (2021) which was also directed by Samuthirakani. The filmmaker got inspired by a stage play which he attended along with his guru K Balachander some two decades ago.
