All India Cine Workers Association write letter to Amit Shah demanding FIR against ‘Adipurush’ makers

The Prabhas-starrer received severe criticism for its poor visual effects, twisted story, and street dialogues delivered by the characters.

In what seems to be another jolt for Adipurush makers, the All India Cine Workers’ Association on Saturday, 24 June, dashed off a letter to the Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah demanding that an FIR be filed against the makers of Adipurush — director Om Raut, writer Manoj Muntashir, Bhushan Kumar of T Series and others.

The Prabhas-starrer was released on 16 June across the world amidst massive expectations in five major languages.

However, it received severe criticism for its poor visual effects, twisted story, and street dialogues delivered by the characters.

Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, the president of All India Cine Workers’ Association, mentioned in the letter that the makers of Adipurush have hurt the sentiments of the Hindus and those who pray to Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman.

The letter further stated that the producers want to make money by selling discounted tickets across the multiplexes while depicting Lord Rama in poor light, which will send a wrong message across the Hindu community.

The production house, T Series, along with director Om Raut and writer Manoj Muntashir made a mockery of by twisting the dialogues, the costumes and the storyline (characters) which is unacceptable, the letter added.

Religious sentiments of Sanatana Dharma have been hurt by the depiction of scenes in Adipurush.

The epic Ramayan has been twisted completely in Adipurush according to the taste of the film, the association alleged in the letter and requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to book the makers by lodging an FIR against them.

Adipurush BO collections drop

Meanwhile, the collections of Adipursh at the box office plummeted.

Although the talk that is being heard among the film circles is that the makers landed safely without any losses, Twitter sources say that Adipurush is yet to close its business.

On the first of the release, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh earned ₹32.8 crore (gross), while the collection dropped drastically in the following days, post-release.

A total of ₹15 crore on day 2, ₹17 crore on day 3, ₹4.8 crore on day 4, ₹2 crore on day 5, ₹1.72 crore on day 6, ₹97 lakh on day 7, and ₹65 lakh on day 8 amounting to ₹75.92 crore (₹121.55 crore gross) in both the Telugu speaking States.
