Accident on sets of Suriya-starrer ‘Kanguva’ brings shooting to a brief halt

Sources said that actor Suriya, who plays the lead in the film, had a lucky escape when the rope camera crashed on set.

A rope camera crashed on the sets of director Siva’s upcoming historical action entertainer Kanguva, forcing the film’s shooting to be halted for a brief period.

Sources say that shooting for the film was going on at EVP Film City on the morning of Thursday, 23 November, when the mishap occurred. They add that actor Suriya, who plays the lead in the film, had a lucky escape.

Other accidents at same location

A unit from the Nazarethpet police station visited the film spot to conduct enquiries about the mishap.

It may be recalled that a crane had crashed and killed two people in the very same place during the filming of director Shankar’s Indian 2, featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead.

Kanguva, a historical film features Bollywood actor Disha Patani as the female lead and has dialogues by Madhan Karky, cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy, and music by Devi Sri Prasad.
