Viveka murder case: Avinash Reddy files anticipatory bail petition in the Telangana High Court

The MP appeared before the CBI in response to a notice issued in connection with the murder that took place in March 2019 in Kadapa district.

YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Telangana High Court on Tuesday, 28 March, in connection with the murder case of his uncle and former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy in March 2019.

For the fourth time, Avinash Reddy appeared before the CBI at its office in Koti, Hyderabad, on 13 March, in connection with the murder case. The CBI team questioned Avinash Reddy for over four hours in the presence of his advocate Nagarjuna.

The MP appeared before the CBI in response to a notice issued by it in connection with the murder that took place in March 2019 in Kadapa district.

In spite of the ongoing Parliament session, Avinash Reddy came to the CBI office and attended the questioning. With the help of information collected by it, including his Call Data Records (CDR), the CBI grilled Avinash Reddy for over four hours and let him to leave.

Case against Avinash Reddy

Earlier, Avinash Reddy approached the court, requesting to give exemption from appearing before the CBI. The court, however, made it clear that it cannot interfere in the matter.

The CBI, which videographed the questioning of Avinash Reddy with audio facility, said that he played a role in tampering the evidence.

The CBI submitted 10 documents, statements of 35 witnesses, and a few photographs pertaining to questioning of Avinash Reddy to the court in a sealed cover.
