Avinash Reddy Viveka murder case

The Telangana High Court on Monday, 13 March, directed the CBI not to take any action against the YS Avinash Reddy in connection with the murder of former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy till it delivers an order in response to a petition filed by the YSRCP MP.

The court gave these directions while hearing Avinash Reddy’s petition requesting it to instruct the CBI, which is probing the murder case, not to initiate any action against him. While asking the CBI not to take action against him, the court reserved the judgement with respect to Avinash Reddy’s petition.

The central probe agency brought to the notice of the court the role of Avinash Reddy in the case.

The investigating agency said that Avinash Reddy played a role in tampering with the evidence. The CBI said the questioning of Avinash Reddy was video-graphed with an audio facility.

The CBI submitted 10 documents, statements of 35 witnesses, and a few photographs pertaining to the questioning of Avinash Reddy to the court in a sealed cover.

The issue related to the questioning of Avinash Reddy’s father YS Bhaskar Reddy came up at the court, which asked the CBI why he was summoned to Kadapa when the investigation was taken up in Hyderabad.
