Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday, 4 May, asked officials to procure the paddy that had been damaged by the recent rains.
He said that he did not want to listen to any complaints of officials not attending to the woes of the farmers.
“I do not want to hear that damaged paddy is not being procured,” the chief minister is understood to have said.
He advised the officials to get details of the damage done to the crops from village secretariats and initiate relief measures accordingly.
Discoloured and soaked paddy had to be procured in full and there could no second word about it, he said, adding that after enumeration, the officials should display the details at the village secretariat for social auditing.

He asked the officials to hasten the process of procurement of rabi crops from the farmers.
He advised them to start a toll-free number so that if the farmers had any grievances, they could register them.
The officials should review the grievances on a day-to-day basis and provide relief to the needy farmers, he said.
The chief minister, reviewing the functioning of the Home Department with Minister T Vanitha, DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy, and other officials, wanted stringent action to be taken against those who resorted to harassment through social media.
He also took a close look at the duties of the women constables and pointed out that their job should be specifically defined.
There had to be a review of what they were doing now and what they were supposed to do to improve their performance, he said.
Jagan on the occasion that he was in favour of the use of the Disha app and wanted one member of each household in the state to download the app and keep it ready for use in an emergency.
The chief minister wanted a survey done to popularise the app and ensure that all households had access to help through it.
Pamphlets needed to be distributed to all households on the benefits of downloading the Disha app, he said.
The chief minister also asked the officials to deal with those who peddled narcotics in the state with an iron hand. There had to be a watch on the transport and use of contraband drugs to root out the evil.
The drug peddlers should be awarded exemplary punishments and there should be one Disha police station in each Parliament Constituency, he said.
