Four children die of suffocation after getting trapped in parked car in Vizianagaram
Synopsis: Four children, aged between 6 and 8, died of suffocation after getting trapped in an unattended car in Dwarapudi village, Vizianagaram, on 18 May. They had reportedly entered the unlocked vehicle to escape the rain but were unable to get out after the doors accidentally locked. Their bodies were discovered hours later, with doctors confirming death by asphyxiation
In a tragic incident, four children — a boy and three girls aged between 6 and 8 — died of suffocation after being trapped in an unattended car in Dwarapudi village on Sunday, 18 May
According to preliminary reports, the children had entered the parked vehicle, reportedly left unlocked, to take shelter from the rain.
Unaware that the doors had accidentally locked behind them, they remained trapped inside for several hours. Villagers discovered the unconscious children much later and rushed them to the Government General Hospital in Vizianagaram.

However, doctors declared all four dead on arrival, confirming suffocation as the cause of death.
Local authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident, and officials have urged residents to exercise caution and ensure parked vehicles are properly secured to prevent such tragedies.
