Synopsis: According to Serilingampally Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ch. Srinivas, the case was registered on 23 May based on a complaint filed by Gandipet Tahsildar Srinivas Reddy. The complaint alleged that five fabricated GOs were circulated through WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms, falsely claiming that around 10 acres of government (poramboke) land in Survey No. 18 of Gandipet village had been regularised and allotted to private individuals.

Former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA from Vinukonda, Bolla Brahma Naidu, has emerged as a key accused in an alleged ₹1,000-crore government land fraud involving forged government orders (GOs) and an attempt to illegally alienate government land in Gandipet on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

While three persons, Nimmala Rajesh Goud, Nimmala Venugopal and Nimmala Ramaswamy, have been arrested by the Narsingi police and remanded to judicial custody, Brahma Naidu and his relative Bolla Ramesh are absconding. Police said the duo played a crucial role in the conspiracy to create  forged documents and facilitate the proposed sale of government land (Poramboke).

According to Serilingampally Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ch.

The case

Investigators found that members of the Nimmala family had been claiming ownership over the land and had pursued legal remedies before the Telangana High Court since 2012. Their petitions challenging the Revenue Department’s position were dismissed in October 2025.

Despite the court ruling, the accused allegedly entered into an agreement with Brahma Naidu and Ramesh to sell the land at ₹3.5 crore per acre by projecting the property as privately owned land backed by valid documentation.

Police said a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were executed between the parties as part of the proposed transaction. During the investigation, officers seized bank records, fake MoUs, mobile phones and a laptop from the residences of the arrested accused.

The investigation revealed that nearly ₹4 crore had allegedly been paid to the Nimmala family towards the proposed land transaction. Police also found evidence of financial transfers from Brahma Naidu’s bank account to one of the arrested accused, Ramaswamy.

“Official bank statements show that money was transferred from Brahma Naidu’s account to Ramaswamy. This establishes his involvement in the transaction,” the DCP said.

According to police, Brahma Naidu, Ramesh and other associates allegedly conspired to create forged GOs and supporting documents to falsely portray that the government land had been regularised and assigned to the Nimmala family.

Officials maintained that the entire 104-acre extent in Survey No. 18 has been recorded as government land since 1954.
