A devastating stampede occurred in Tirupati on the night of 8 January at the Vishnu Nivasam token counter for the Vaikunta Dwara Sarva Darshanam.

Six lives were lost, including five women and over 40 devotees were injured in the tragic incident.

The chaos broke out as thousands of pilgrims rushed for darshan tokens, leading to scuffles at multiple locations, including Bairagipatteda Ramanaidu School and Satyanarayanapuram.

With Vaikunta Ekadasi scheduled for 10 January, the Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams (TTD) opened 90 token counters to manage the massive influx of devotees.

Reports reveal that over 62,000 pilgrims visited the Sri Venkateshwara Temple on 6 January alone. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims
