Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry brace for Cyclone Mandous

It is likely to make a landfall between Puducherry and Sriharikota around Mahabalipuram as a cyclonic storm around midnight Friday.

Cyclone Mandous is likely to make a landfall between Puducherry and Sriharikota around Mahabalipuram as a cyclonic storm around midnight Friday, 9 December.

Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are also bracing for the cyclone, and advisories have been issued to fishermen.

Mandous will have maximum sustained wind speeds of 65-75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph.

The cyclone was named by the UAE and Mandous means ‘treasure box’ in Arabic.
