The DMK top brass was left red-faced after infighting between party leaders led their supporters to clash and even barge into a police station to attack rivals.

Trouble began after Municipal Administration Minister KN Nehru was shown black flags during the inauguration of a sports complex.

DMK MP Tiruchi Siva’s supporters, upset over their leader not being invited, waved black flags at the minister and were detained by the police.

Enraged supporters of Nehru vandalised Siva’s house and later barged into a police station to attack their rivals.

Tamil Nadu DGP Sylendra Babu ordered action against those who barged into the police station and some party functionaries surrendered before a magistrate.
