Religious conversion row in Hubballi, police complaint lodged

The complaint by pro-Hindu outfits alleged that people were being forced into conversion and attending prayer meetings.

Tension prevailed in Hubballi on the night of Wednesday, 16 November, after members of the Shikkaligar community and some pro-Hindu outfits alleged conversions by Christian missionaries.

A complaint was lodged with the Old Hubballi police.

The complaint alleged that people were being forced into conversion and attending prayer meetings.

Sampath, a complainant alleged the missionaries had converted his wife and threatened that their children will not be provided education if he too does not convert to Christianity.
