'Pustaka Goodu' or book nest at bus shelters, health centres and parks have become a huge hit in Dakshina Kannada district. An initiative of the Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Kumara, pustaka goodu is aimed at inculcating a habit of reading books among the general public. A variety of books for all age groups are either donated by people or bought by Kumara. The IAS officer hopes other districts will start similar book nests to help more people read.
