Arch rivals BJP and the Left on Tuesday, 1 November, came together in a show of strength to back the Adani port project at Vizhinjam.

The protest was a counter to the anti-port agitation that has been on for over 100 days.

While fisherfolk have demanded the immediate stopping of any works at the port, the Save Vizhinjam port counter-protest saw BJP and Left leaders united.

State ministers have openly said there is no question of going back on the port project and some have even alleged that the anti-port agitation is getting foreign funding.
