Busy markets, crowded shopping malls and endless traffic jams in Kochi on Thursday, 8 September, to celebrate Onam. The public hustled across the city to celebrate one of the most prominent festivals of Kerala. This year, the celebrations are even more special as they come after two years of pandemic and lockdown. Keralites across religions and castes celebrate the festival reflecting the secular nature of the state. The ten-day long festival will end on Friday, the day of Avittam.
