IPS officer in Tirunelveli shunted after allegations of custodial torture

The victims claim IPS officer Balveer Singh, ASP at Ambasamudram sub division, broke their teeth and assaulted them on their private parts.

At least 10 suspects were allegedly tortured while in custody in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.

The victims claim IPS officer Balveer Singh who was ASP at Ambasamudram sub division broke their teeth and assaulted them on their private parts.

Following visuals and pictures of the injured persons going viral on social media, the officer was shunted out pending a departmental inquiry.

The suspects caught for various offences including theft and extortion were allegedly beaten up by Balveer Singh who also asked them to chew stones.
