Gannavaram remains volatile after violent protests by TDP, YSRCP cadres

Police said trouble began after TDP leaders made comments on MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi following which resulted in attacks on TDP office.

The situation in Gannavaram in Krishna District remained volatile after violent protests by TDP and YSRCP cadres.

Several policemen were also injured.

Police said trouble began after TDP leaders made objectionable comments on local MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi following which his supporters attacked the TDP office.

TDP cadres led by Kommareddy Pattabhiram took out a protest during which he was arrested by the police.

Protests by TDP cadres escalated demanding Pattabhiram’s release. TDP has threatened to intensify its protests.
