From giant cutouts of their heroes to public events, fans in the football-crazed state are gearing up for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

While FIFA itself was impressed with the fans in Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took to social media to thank football’s global governing body for acknowledging the state’s unmatched passion for the sport.
