Erode East bypolls: Voting underway at high-stakes assembly constituency

There are 238 polling booths in the constituency which has an electorate of over 2.26 lakh; over 3,000 personnel have been deployed.

Voting for the Erode East byelections got off to a brisk start at 7 am on Monday, 27 February.

There are 238 polling booths in the constituency which has an electorate of over 2.26 lakh.

Over 3,000 personnel including those drawn from police and paramilitary forces have been deployed.

The main fight is between DMK-Congress alliance candidate EVKS Elangovan and AIADMK’S Thennarasu.

Voting will end at 6 pm. Counting is scheduled for 2 March.
