Cyclone Mandous weakened into a deep depression following its landfall near Mamallapuram early on Saturday, 10 December, which led to heavy rainfall and squally winds.

Four persons died in rain and cyclone-related incidents.

The cyclone left several trees uprooted and roads waterlogged, besides snapping power lines in some areas.

Nearly 25,000 personnel were on the ground to deal with the impact of the cyclone.
