Congress accuses PM Modi of ‘crippling the party financially ahead of elections’

The Congress said that despite freezing their bank account, the I-T department issued a notice seeking reports of assessment year 1994-95.

The Indian National Congress held a press conference on Thursday, 21 March, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “crippling the party financially” ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

The Congress said that despite freezing their bank account, the Income Tax (I-T) department has issued a notice seeking reports of the assessment year 1994-95.

It asked for the opportunity to have a free and fair election.
