Commuters turn to Kochi Metro after heavy rains inundate roads

Heavy downpours in Kochi on 31 August 2022 brought the daily commute to a halt. The rains lashed the city from morning to afternoon causing waterlogging. With this, commuters chose metro services and Kochi Metro sold 1 lakh tickets on the day and recorded a 32.94 % increase in footfall on the day.
