Heavy rains since 21 October, 2024, have caused severe flooding in several parts of Bengaluru, with Yelahanka and Chikkabanavara among the worst affected areas.
Overflowing from Yelahanka Lake inundated low-lying areas and submerged homes and vehicles, especially on Sir MV Road, leaving residents in distress.
Similarly, Chikkabanavara has faced flooding as water from Banavara and Ganigerahalli Lakes overflowed, affecting hundreds of homes in Dwarka Nagar.
The relentless rains are part of a larger weather system caused by a cyclonic circulation over the central Andaman Sea, disrupting life across Karnataka
