BRS leader K Kavitha

BRS leader K Kavitha hit back at the Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for criticising the BRS government in Telangana and calling Chief Minister KCR corrupt.

Siddaramaiah has no right to criticise his Telangana counterpart, as the Congress party is “failing” its state, MLC Kavitha alleged on Friday, 10 November.

Reacting to Siddaramaiah’s comments on Rao, she said “unlike” the Congress’s guarantees and schemes, the BRS government constantly contributed to the development of every section of society, not only the backward community in Telangana.

‘Failing Karnataka’

“Do not criticise our CM, and you have no right to criticise our leader because you (Congress) have done nothing for the BCs. You have done nothing for the people of Karnataka. Unfortunately, you are failing your state, but we have made sure our state becomes a number one state today,” she said.

She advised Siddaramaiah to do the “homework” and speak about Telangana as it is the number one state in India today in terms of vision, and also execution.

“Karnataka as a state is a great state. Unfortunately, it has a leadership crisis. It is a leadership problem,” she said, taking a dig at the Congress leader.

On the “BC Declaration,” she said after the formation of Telangana in 2014 till date, the KCR government has spent ₹45,000 crore on the welfare of BCs and requested the people to “throw the Congress party into the Bay of Bengal.”

The Congress party which claims that it is committed to BC’s welfare has not taken up so far its census despite being in power several years after the independence, she charged and said it was her father who demanded a separate ministry for BCs in the Union government in 2004.

What did Siddaramiah say?

The Karnataka chief minister was in Telangana to release the “BC Declaration” for the 30 November Assembly polls. On Friday, he attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chandrasekhar Rao, calling the former a “liar” and the latter as “corrupt.”

Siddaramaiah said the Congress would implement the six guarantees made to the voters in Telangana like he has been doing in Karnataka.

Referring to the opposition campaign claims that the Congress was not implementing the guarantees in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah said, “I call upon him (KCR) to visit Karnataka, and I will sit with him to show what has been implemented and how much money has been released.”

He also accused the BRS of being hand in glove with the BJP. “The BRS has been supporting all the programmes of the BJP in the state and has fielded weak candidates in places where the BJP is hopeful. The people should reject both parties and pave the way for the Congress win,” he said.

Congress will win

“I want to say that the Congress coming to power in Telangana in this election is as certain as the sun rising in the East,” the Karnataka chief minister said.

Siddaramaiah also exuded confidence that Revanth Reddy would defeat KCR in the Kamareddy constituency.

The TPCC president A Revanth Reddy is locked in an electoral battle with KCR in Kamareddy. Reddy is also contesting from Kodangal.

“I believe that the people of Telangana will defeat Chief Minister K Chandrashekar of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana and help Revanth Reddy win by a huge margin. He is also contesting from Kodangal, and the people should make him victorious in the 30 November Assembly polls,” he said.

The senior Congress leader further alleged that KCR was using ill-gotten money to fund his party’s poll campaign.

Siddaramaiah added that according to the information he had received, Revanth Reddy would win both Kamareddy and Kodangal.
