Synopsis: Reaffirming her goal of building a “Samajika Telangana” – a socially just state – Kavitha said she will be in the ring for the next Assembly elections. “We’re definitely contesting,” she declared, putting to rest any doubts about her return to the electoral fray after her recent exit from the BRS.

In a lively and candid interaction on X, Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has dropped some major hints about her political comeback, leaving netizens and observers buzzing with excitement.

Under the hashtag #AskKavitha, the former MP and daughter of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao fielded a barrage of questions for over an hour and a half on Monday, 15 December, dishing out detailed responses that dominated X’s politics section as the number one trending interaction.

Reaffirming her goal of building a “Samajika Telangana” – a socially just state – Kavitha made it clear: She will be in the ring for the next Assembly elections. “We’re definitely contesting,” she declared, putting to rest any doubts about her return to the electoral fray after her recent exit from the BRS.

Vision Jagruthi

She painted an inspiring vision, stressing the need to empower youth and women by opening doors in fields they love and nurturing their potential.

Telangana Jagruthi, she said, is gearing up to carve out more political opportunities for them. On the possibility of a new party, Kavitha playfully responded to queries about its name: “You tell me – what should it be?” And on the timeline, she was firm – they will hit the ground running soon with a membership drive and village-level committees already embracing representatives from all walks of life.

Priorities? Jobs for the youth top her list, hand in hand with security and skill development. For true empowerment, she argued, Telangana must deliver top-notch free education and healthcare – so much so that parents won’t shell out a single rupee for their kids’ schooling.

‘Flop’ governance

Kavitha pulled no punches on the current Congress government led by A Revanth Reddy. Calling his performance an “utter flop” in fulfilling promises, she highlighted widespread public discontent.

She expressed deep anguish over unpaid fee reimbursements, forcing lakhs of students – especially girls – to drop out, labelling the neglect a “death knell” for their education. Farmer suicides continuing unabated under Congress rule? “Heartbreaking,” she said, slamming it as proof of the administration’s incompetence and indifference.

She also fired salvos at the handling of Singareni Collieries, the hype around “Future City” on land acquired for Pharma City (promising protests in support of affected farmers), and the lopsided development in Hyderabad – paying attention to the west while the east lags on basic infrastructure.

Amid the heavy politics, there were lighter moments too. A die-hard Chiranjeevi fan at heart, Kavitha described Ram Charan as “very humble and a great dancer” – but quickly added, “Chiru comes first!” Fondly recalling her childhood days in Erramanzil, she brushed off “negative” advice to ditch politics for business.
