Synopsis: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy strongly criticized the BJP at the ongoing AICC in Ahmedabad. Addressing Congress leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia, and Rahul Gandhi, he likened the fight against the BJP to a battle between Gandhi and Godse, calling the BJP more dangerous than British colonizers. He also highlighted Congress’s progress in Telangana during his speech

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy lashed out at the BJP in Ahmedabad at the ongoing All India Congress Committee (AICC). Speaking in front of Congress bigwigs like President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, Revanth was joined by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Mallu, among others, at the event.

Speaking highly of Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhai Patel, he also took the opportunity to laud Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Painting the fight against the BJP as a fight between Gandhi and Godse, he stated that the British colonisers were less dangerous than the BJP.

Throughout his speech at the Plenary session, he continued to note not just the BJP’s shortcomings but also the Congress’s progress in Telangana.

‘Modi afraid of Rahul Gandhi’

“The land on which this meeting is taking place belongs to Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhai Patel,” Revanth Reddy began his speech. “While we are taking forward Gandhi’s ideology under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to spread Godse’s ideology,” he continued.

“Modi’s guarantees include implementing the black laws against farmers, for which they had to protest for months outside Delhi. It includes burning Manipur and trying to oust the natives of the regions,” he taunted. “Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi travelled for about 150 days across 4,000 kilometers from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He promised a caste census, waiving farmers’ loans and removing youth unemployment,” he lauded.

“Rahul Gandhi promised the 4 Crore people of Telangana that the Congress would waive farmers’ loans up to ₹2 Lakh. In 10 months, we waived ₹21,000 Crore for over 50 Lakh farmers,” Revanth Reddy reported. “We also fulfilled the promise of a caste census. That is why Modi felt afraid and didn’t let Rahul get the mic in the Lok Sabha,” he posited.

“Modi also promised about 2 Crore jobs a year for the unemployed. Eleven years have passed; where are the 20 Crore jobs you promised?” he questioned. “Modi and Amit Shah both have a job, but they didn’t give the 2 Crore jobs to anyone across the country,” he joked.

“That is why I appeal to Gandhians nationwide to prepare to fight against Modi along with Rahul, we are the inheritors of Gandhi. We must defeat Modi and Godse’s family in this country,” he said. “That is why, after the CWC meeting here, we are going back with determination. For the sake of the farmers, youth, and women, we will not let the BJP step into power in Telangana,” he reiterated his resolve.

‘Godse, Modi’s family killed Gandhi’

The chief minister also credited Vallabhai Patel with helping Telangana achieve freedom during the Nizam’s rule post-independence. “From the land of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, under Sonia Gandhi’s leadership, we will not let the BJP come to power in Telangana. We will stop them and not forgive them, no matter what,” Revanth Reddy stated.

“For 30 years. Gandhi fought against the Britishers, whether it was the Dandi March or other Satyagrahas. Yet, the Britishers never used their lathis against him. However, after we got freedom, Godse’s family couldn’t tolerate Gandhi for even six months. Godse and Modi’s family fired a bullet at Gandhi as soon as we got freedom and murdered him,” he said.

“The BJP people are more dangerous than the British. That is why we must defeat the BJP as we chased the Britishers out,” he cautioned. “We must all prepare to fight against Modi in the coming days under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. This is the resolve that I request every Congress worker to step away from the meeting with,” he said.
