‘We can wipe Pakistan off the map’

As the march drew to a close, the chief minister, his cabinet colleagues, and veterans paid their respects to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April and expressed solidarity with Operation Sindoor, the Indian response to this attack. The armed forces attacked nine terrorist bases in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan.

In a fierce address to thousands of Congress workers, government employees, veterans, and civilians, the chief minister expressed strong support for the Indian Army. “We have gathered here in the thousands to show solidarity with our Indian Army,” he said, urging unity across political lines to demonstrate the collective strength of 140 crore Indians.

Invoking Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy, he remarked, “Even Pakistan got its freedom thanks to Gandhi.” However, he warned that India’s commitment to peace should not be mistaken for weakness. “If anyone crosses the border and wipes the Sindoor off our sisters’ foreheads, we can retaliate with Operation Sindoor,” he declared.

In a stark warning, he added, “If our army so wishes, they can wipe out Pakistan from the face of the Earth overnight.” His remarks drew loud applause, underscoring a mood of nationalism and resolve in the gathering.

Ending his speech, Revanth Reddy raised slogans in support of the armed forces. The air echoed with thousands at once screaming Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata ki Jai.
