Telangana Director-General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar on Thursday, 16 February, asked the Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Police Commissioners in every district to visit the villages in the state extensively to familiarise the areas and understand the problems of the people at the field level.
During a video conference with the SPs and Police Commissioners, he said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has sanctioned a large amount of funds for the strengthening of the police department and has also allowed police recruitment on a large scale.
He reminded the funds and facilities given to the Telangana Police Department by the state government, have not been given to any other state by the respective governments.
As part of the police appointments, the selection process of sub-inspectors and police constables was almost complete and the police training centres in the districts have been requested to be prepared in view of the commencement of training programs soon.
It has been stated that minimum infrastructure like drinking water supply, adequate toilets and electricity facilities should be provided in every Police Training College and Centre.
Anjani Kumar said strict action should be taken against the illegal transport of liquor from the neighbouring states.
Anjani Kumar also suggested the Telangana Police use extensive technology in crime investigation and law and order maintenance.
He also discussed budget expenditure for the financial year 2022-23, training facility at DTC, PTC and CTC along with present infrastructure and human resources, inspections and visits to police stations and sensitive villages, law and order, and other issues including writ petitions and court cases.
