While the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is trying to leave the losses it incurred this year in the rearview mirror, it has not let that dampen the creation of new facilities for passengers.

In March this year, the TSRTC, for the first time, will introduce 16 AC sleeper buses.

TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar, who inspected the new buses, has given his green signal for their operation.

The TSRTC has already brought in the new super-luxury non-AC sleeper and seater-cum-sleeper buses.

“Now, for the benefit of long-distance travellers, AC sleeper buses are being introduced,” the TSRTC said in an official press release on Monday, 20 February.

The new AC sleeper buses are in no way inferior to the buses being run by private bus operators, the release stated.

Happy travels!

These buses are named Lahari and they will ply routes that lead to far-off places like Bengaluru, Hubballi, and Chennai, as well as cities like Visakhapatnam and Tirupati.

Sajjanar, after taking a close look at the buses, expressed satisfaction and asked the officials to commission them as early as possible.

He said that he was hopeful that there would be a good response to the new buses.
