TSPSC paper leak ED

Stepping up pressure on the ruling BRS in the state, the Telangana Pradesh Congress (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy on Friday, March 31, urged the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to investigate the TSPSC question paper leak case.

Speaking to media persons in Hyderabad, the TPCC president said that as certain aspects of the question paper leak case came under the purview of the ED, the Congress has represented to the national investigation agency to commence a probe into it to ferret out the truth.

Revanth Reddy said his party believes that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Telangana police constituted to probe the case was examining only a select few persons and not all those who are connected with the scam.

‘Investigate role of KTR’

“Already, the high court is seized of the matter. We have met the ED joint director and lodged a complaint with it on the irregularities that had been taking place in the TSPSC. We have asked the ED to investigate the role of IT minister KT Rama Rao and all TSPSC officials in the paper leak. The ED has expressed willingness to conduct a probe,” Revanth Reddy said.

The Congress leader said his party has a reason to believe that the SIT was examining only a select few persons and not all those who are, in one way or the other, connected with the scam.

That was the reason why since beginning the Congress was seeking a probe into the muddle by a sitting judge, he added.

He said, “The TSPSC, over time, has become a refuge for the thieves, dacoits, and the corrupt. In the conduct of the examinations, they are favouring some persons and thus playing with the lives of lakhs of innocent unemployed youths.”

‘Kalvakuntla family remains callous’

The TPCC president said that the Kalvakuntla family — headed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao —remained callous even though a number of youths had died by suicide after the question paper leak.

“There is nothing wrong if those who are connected with the scam are hanged at the Telangana martyrs memorial column,” he said.

Tracing the history of the scam, Revanth Reddy said the leaks began with Shankara Lakshmi and therefore A1 in the case should be her, A2 should be TSPSC’s chairman, then secretary and so on.

“It is very clear that an effort is going on to protect the big fish by making the lower-rung employees sacrificial lambs,” the Congress leader said.

Revanth Reddy wanted to know who had leaked information to KTR on those who had taken the examinations in Jagtial.

“How did he come to know about the cut-off mark for mains at a time when even the students themselves did not have any idea?” he asked.

Referring to the legal notice sent to him by KTR, Revanth Reddy wanted to know whether the former’s dignity was worth ₹100 crore as a legal notice to this amount was sent to him.

He warned Chief Minister KCR that if he continued playing with the lives of the unemployed youths, he would soon bite the dust.
