He also said the Congress and the BJP did not support the agitation for a separate Telangana, and instead humiliated the movement.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said it would be the regional parties’ era in the country in future, and that this would be beneficial to the state.
Launching a blistering attack on the BJP and the Congress on Sunday, 5 November, KCR said the two national parties did not hold the flag in support of the agitation for separate Telangana.
Both the BJP and the Congress instead humiliated the Telangana movement, he said.
He was addressing a public meeting organised in Khammam as part of the election campaign by the party in the name of “Praja Ashirwada Sabha”.
It may be noted that the BRS started off as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi — a regional party that managed to realise its demand for Telangana as a separate state.
The party changed its name to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi only last year, apparently with an eye on the national pie.
KCR said Khammam, represented by the Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, witnessed major development in the last nine and a half years.
The overall development of Golapadu slum and Lakaram lake, six-lane roads in the district with street lights, and greenery were some of the development works completed, he said.
In an oblique reference to former minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, who quit the BRS and joined the Congress, he said the former failed to deliver in spite of being given an opportunity and made a minister.
“Do you (people) want the development of puvvada puvulu (flowers) or Thummala tuppulu (weed) or mululu (thorns)?” he asked, requesting the people to extend support to Ajay Kumar in the elections.
KCR said that before the formation of separate Telangana, the people in the region used to face several problems — especially power cuts and water woes.
People used to rely on inverters, converters, and generators for power supply, and on water tankers to get water, he added.
KCR advised people to use their weapon — their votes — to teach a fitting lesson to the Opposition parties.
At a separate public meeting in Bhadradri Kothagudem, he asked the people to observe the changes that had come about in the state in the last decade.
He said that once the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project was completed, there would be no more drought situations.
Around 75 percent of the construction work of the project had been completed, KCR said, adding that he is confident he would inaugurate it after the completion of the work.
Stating that the Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a public sector mining company, suffered financially because of the previous Congress government in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, he said the BRS government took necessary steps to strengthen it.
