Synopsis: The CCTV footage documenting the accident went viral on social media on Sunday, 13 September. It clearly shows the bus hitting the rapido bike-taxi on which Hemadurga was travelling, and another motorcycle from behind.
A 26-year-old woman was killed after a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus rammed into the Rapido bike she was riding on Saturday, 12 September.
The deceased was identified as V Hemadurga, who lived in a private hostel in the city and hailed from Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district. She reportedly worked at a car showroom in Banjara Hills.

According to Punjagutta police, the woman had sought permission from her office for a short break and booked a bike taxi to get her phone repaired. An RTC bus hit the bike near the rear gate of Big Bazaar in Srinagar Colony.
Hemadurga, who was riding pillion, fell and came under the bus’s wheels, dying on the spot. The bike-taxi rider suffered injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The bus driver, identified as Shaik Anwar, was taken into custody by the police, and a case has been registered against him for allegedly causing her death through rash and negligent driving.
