Telangana is strengthening its position as a global manufacturing hub with a ₹347 crore investment from Toshiba. On Friday, 8 August, IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu laid the foundation stone for a ₹177 crore expansion of Toshiba’s EHVT power transformer plant in Sangareddy and inaugurated two modern facilities—the CRGO Core Processing Centre (₹65 crore) and Surge Arrester Unit (₹105 crore).
“Telangana has rapidly emerged as a guiding light for the country in the manufacturing sector,” said Sridhar Babu. He further reported that nearly 48 percent of the state’s projected ₹2.77 lakh crore industrial output for 2024–25 is expected from manufacturing.
With electricity demand in India set to double by 2040, the state is focusing on clean energy. Under its Green Energy Policy–2025, Telangana has, reportedly, attracted ₹29,000 crore in investments and plans to install 20,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
