Telangana to launch TGDeX, India’s first state-led AI Data Exchange

Built by the Indian Institute of Science and powered by the Department of ITE&C’s Emerging Technologies Wing, the platform will provide access to high-quality datasets and collaborative tools.

In a pioneering move, the Telangana government is set to unveil TGDeX — India’s first state-led digital public infrastructure for artificial intelligence — on Wednesday, 2 July. Developed in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), TGDeX aims to enable cross-sectoral AI innovation by connecting startups, academia, industry, and government bodies.

Built by the Indian Institute of Science and powered by the Department of ITE&C’s Emerging Technologies Wing, the platform will provide access to high-quality datasets and collaborative tools. Telangana’s open data platform and its robust AI ecosystem — including T-Hub, T-AIM, and IIT/IIIT Hyderabad — will be key drivers in the initiative’s success.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy called on stakeholders to help make Telangana a model for tech-driven public empowerment. TGDeX is expected to host over 2,000 AI-ready datasets within five years, advancing the state’s digital innovation landscape.
