Telangana emerged as a key voice in shaping India’s clean energy roadmap at the Urja Manthan 2025 conference, hosted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas at Bharat Mandapam. The event, chaired by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, brought together ministers from 22 states to discuss energy security and clean fuel adoption.
Representing Telangana, Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu made a strong pitch for deeper Centre-State collaboration and outlined Telangana’s vision under its Clean & Green Energy Policy 2025. His proposals ranged from expanding City Gas Distribution and CNG infrastructure to leveraging agricultural waste for Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) production.
He also called for joint funding of LNG/CNG terminals, greater support for MSMEs under green energy schemes, and recognition of Telangana’s strategic role in the East-West gas corridor. “Telangana stands ready to lead India’s clean energy revolution with proactive policy, digital readiness, and industrial capacity,” he said.
Sridhar Babu was joined by Nikhil Chakravarthy, Director of Industries, at the high-level conclave.
